Ehrensvärd Museum
Ehrensvärd Museum (Suomenlinna, Helsinki) – this museum is located in one the largest sea fortresses in the world (a UNESCO World Heritage site). It was founded in 1748 (by the Swedish Empire) and it is located on six islands approximately one km. from downtown Helsinki. The Museum itself is located on the original central courtyard of the fortress in the Fort Commander’s House. The first occupant of the building was Augustin Ehrensvärd (1710-1772), the founder of the Suomenlinna fortress. The Ehrensvärd Museum’s collection includes paintings, furniture, weapons and ship models. Admission: €3.00 (adult), €1.00 (child).
