Bank of Finland Museum (Snellmaninkatu 2, Helsinki) – opened in 2003, this museum’s displays include the history of money in Finland and abroad as well as the role of the Bank of Finland in the European System of Central Banks. The Bank of Finland Museum has especially been designed for Finnish school pupils and students.

A guided visit for groups of school pupils takes about an hour and provides a historical overview of money and monetary systems in Finland and elsewhere, the Bank of Finland’s role and current tasks in the context of the Eurosystem, some basic economics and a view of Finnish banknote art. This museum would be of particular interest to both coin & currency collectors, as well as Economics students & academics. Admission: free. Hours: 11 am – 5 pm (Tues. – Fri.), 11 am – 4 pm (Sat.-Sun.).
